My name is John. Having drifted into Charlton from the tropical paradise down the road, known as Bermondsey and Rotherhithe in 1995 I have spent all these years since trying to make sense of a constantly changing Greenwich.

Parts of Greenwich like its history will remain transfixed over time, but other parts are consistently changing with architectural developments springing up all over the place. Some good and some bad.

I decided to set up this website and blog in late 2020 just before Christmas. With mass Covid-19 restrictions everywhere covering almost every section of life it was very hard to give reviews about establishments during frequent periods of lockdown so I gave up and neglected this site for a year and ten months until I rebooted the site in November 2022.

Not all the establishments that I initially reviewed survived the hardships of the Covid dark days and went under, so I have had to edit and delete some of the reviews and amend the lists of restaurants and pubs within the Royal London Borough of Greenwich boundaries. I will endeavour to keep the lists and reviews as up to date as much as possible.

My rules for reviews

I have made it a rule to myself that all the restaurants, pubs, and venues of interest listed must be within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Whilst some premises that you may think should be listed it should be noted that our borough borders cut across whole streets, so one side of the street may be in one borough the other side is in another. Also, a house in a street may be in one borough and the house next door may be in another.
